Comments:
My first SSB contest using my new (but used) Hercules amp. The first time I went
to 40m and transmitted, I thought a critter was trying to get into my shack
(which is in the back of a detached garage). Went outside and looked - nothing.
Came back in and made another call - the critter is back. Eventually, after I
took off my headphones and listened more closely, I figured out that the RF was
turning on the lawn sprinklers! Cutting the power back a few hundred watts made
that go away.
Highlight was getting called by HC8GR while running on 80.
