Comments:
This has always been one of my favorite contests. With the advent of windows
based logging software, QTCs are even easier.
My FT-1000 Mk V bit the dust on Friday nite, so I limped along on the backup
rig, a new K-3. Pretty impressive, it really works!
It was nice to have a reasonably quiet Saturday nite on 80 meters even though
condx were just average from here in Tennessee. Staying in the chair was not a
problem, but getting moving again on the two replacement knees was a bit
painful. That will pass soon.
I have been clearing brush on the hillside for the new 40 meter 4 square and I
look a bit silly backing down the hill side since my quads (muscles not
antennas) are still weak.
Antenna was a single 60 ft 80 meter vertical with 38,000 feet of radials that
still works well after 25 years. See you in the Tennessee QSO Party in early
September (Roane county).
