Comments:
Thank you to all the EA stations that came out to play in EA RTTY contest this
weekend! It was a good time, I had no equipment problems, there was semi-good
propagation, and I only made a couple dozen operator errors... :-)
Ten meters wasn't a player this weekend. WX4TM is the only station I worked on
the remaining 4 bands. Saturday evening brought lots of WX related static
through our area keeping my s-meter in the +20 dB or higher range.
It was nice to work VR2BG zone 24, E21TDP zone 26, VK4FNQ zone 30, ZL2AMI zone
32, CN8KD zone 33, and FR1HZ zone 39. All had good signals into the midwest USA
and I was surprised that my 150 Watts was heard.
My top QSO count by country is: USA=117, Canada=27, Spain=26, Ukraine=14. DL, I,
OH, OK, and F rounded out the remaining 6 top ten positions. All other countries
were 8 contacts or less. North Korea=0.
With 10 & 15 meters mostly closed down, 20 and 40 meters really got packed. If
you don't have 250 Hz filters for RTTY you are at a real disadvantage during
these digital contests! Even with my filters tightened down, stations were
packed several layers deep at times.
I'm not sure N1MM has scored this contest properly, but the band QSO's are
correct. The EA sponsor will determine my final score.
