Comments:
What a difference in propagation from the SSB weekend. So much for 27-day
cycles. Slow start on 40 meters and the rate never met expectations on this band
-- I had an 06z hour of 98 Q's on 80 meters the first night that was better than
any hour on 40 meters. The good news is the new 80-meter vertical (100 feet
high) works much better than the inverted Vee at 100 feet. It's a new tower that
will hold a 40-meter beam someday but I decided to try feeding it on 80. Laid
down 30 1/4 wave radials and 400 feet of hardline a few days before the
contest.
Overslept Sunday morning and missed an hour and a half of prime run time.
Ran out of time to repair the 40-meter Ring Rotor before contest so the beam was
fixed on Europe, but managed to work some good mults off the back and sides.
My SO2R setup mainly useful on the high bands. Need to cure some interference
problems on low bands.

160: 100-ft vertical with wire parasitic elements (3-el toward Eu). Phased
Beverages for RX
80: 100-ft vertical, Inv. vee at 100 ft.; phased Beverages for RX
40: 3-el HyGain Explorer at 83 feet, fixed on Europe; phased Beverages for RX
20: 4/4/4 stack of HyGain 204BA yagis at 98/65/35 feet; lower beams fixed on
Europe. Fixed low 3-el delta loop to south
15: 4/4 stack of Wilson 4-el yagis at 98/65 feet; lower beam is fixed on
Europe
10: 5-el modified HyGain 105BA (W3XU design) on side-arm rotator at 55 feet.
5-el homebrew yagi at 20 feet on tree, fixed south.
FT1000MP main radio, TS940S second radio. NA logging software, TopTen DXDoubler
SO2R switching box. Six monoband tube amplfiers, each 1.5 KW. Heil Quiet Phones
help cut down the blower noise from amps, and a new exhaust blower in the attic
and a baffle right above the amps helped reduce heat and noise.
