Comments:

The last time I did this contest from the DX side single op was 1996,
low power from FS5PL. I didn't know what to expect and didn't go into
it with any expectations or any goals. The plan was to just run...
run... and run....

When I went to 160 the first night, the SWR was infinite..... even though it was
checked just before the contest.... so no 160 the frist njight for me. I found
out on Saturday at around 2100z that nobody could come out to fix it... so in
middle of my 3rd consecutive 200 + hour, I had to take 45 min off to climb the
hill, which is a chore in itself... and then climb the tower and connect the
160m Vee to the 80m Vee with a couple 14 gauge pieces of wire.... no solder or
tape... just wrapped the wire around each eyelet... and it worked. I didn't
listen to 160 that much the first night, but it seemed to be much better the
first night than the second. Wound up with a decent 160 total. It's hard to
tell how many Qs I lost from being off the air for 45 min during prime time as
well as not being on 160 the first night.... one can only wonder.

Had to take a 30 min nap the first night around 0800.... didn't sleep
well Thurs night so I was pretty wiped out. Slept a perfect 90
min cycle Sunday morning from around 0800-0930... woke up without the
alarm clock and felt like I could go another 36 hours.

Sunday afternoon is absolutely brutal..... should have taken a nap then. :-)

FB jobs by all the single ops over 5000 Qs! TG0AA, P40Y, P40T, D4B.... and
anyone else that did it! Lots of big scores this year.

HUGE thanks to WA3FET, KE3Q, WP3R, NP4A, KP4TG and KP4ST for all the help!
