First ever QRP contest, frustrating at times - couldn't even work eastern
European on 5watts at times but managed west coast on 3watts !!!
Mister Murphy struck an just before "greyline" with a 3 hour power cut so missed
out on west coast 2nd day. To make matters worse my 700ft delta loop snapped
40ft up, fortunately an easy fix.
Sporadic E made 10m a joy with some wonderful suprises. But the antenna was best
on 15m. Technique was completely different than my normal 100w operating, being
at the mercy of being spotted as it was nearly impossible to do a run - more so
being able to keep my frequency !!!
Thanks to everyone who worked me also to Dez (ZC4DW) between the two of us we
worked out optimum band openings and they were just about spot on. A very useful
chart !!
