Comments:
The last contest I operated from Idaho was the 1979 10M contest. Put a Hustler
mobile antenna on an old Rohn tripod in the driveway. Used a card table set up
in the garage for the operating position. It was 22 degrees in the garage.
Only did 51 minutes before I couldn't feel the paddles any longer. Took a
while to remember it was dip the plate then load the coil. Too many years of
solid state auto tune techno terrors. Was nostalgic to go back to a tube
radio. Kind of puts you back in touch with the ether.
