Strange contest. To the casual observer, conditions looked
great across the board. High bands open to a wide area,
static on 80 not bad, plenty of big signals everywhere.
But something was amiss. Rate just would not happen.
I would CQ like mad on a band full of strong signals
and get nada. Maybe it was me. VE3IAY was a notable
exception to that, seemingly having a radar for my CQs
on every band.
