. Silver Medal Winner, Inaugural WRTC: Seattle 1990.
. Twelve-time Winner, ARRL SS (Twice LP, ten times HP).
. Current Low-power Record Holder, CW SS (NP4A, 1993, w/Isoloop + Wires).
. National Winner, ARRL DX Contest Phone & CW (Only postwar CW winner from West Coast--I think).
. World #1 CQWW CW (NP4A - 2 Point country) 1976; #2 World 1986 (NP4A).
. World #1, CQ WPX CW 1979 (KG6SW).
. World #2. CQWW SSB 1977 (KG6SW); set QSO record at the time.
. Five-time North American winner, All Asian DX Contest (W7RM); World winner in AA CW, 1976 (KG6SW).
. USA Winner, CQWW & ARRL Phone, 10M LP (home city lot).
. Team Leader of numerous #1-in-Class Field Day operations (most recently: 2000 N6ME 7A).
. Many years of experience as band captain at W7RM and other M/M operations involving two operators at station.
. Experienced in use of CT and NA (both CW and SSB); familiar with TRLog.
. Pioneer in the use of Japanese language in Phone contesting.
. Top QSO Rates: 360 SSB, 210 CW in DX Contests, 180 SSB, 108 CW in SS.

International Goodwill:
. Invited by Chinese Radio Sport Association to visit China (BY1PK) for training of Chinese operators in 1984.
. Selected as only U.S. participant in first joint Finnish-Soviet-American DX-pedition to Malyj-Vysotskij Island (4J1FS), 1989.
. Selected as one of U.S. operator-instructors for Albania Project (ZA1A), 1991. Granted honorary ZA1JA callsign at completion of project. Completed approximately 16,000 QSOs during the ZA1A operation.
. Traveled to Cuba, 1994, on commission from QCWA Journal and at invitation of Federacion de Radioaficionados de Cuba, to participate in and report on activities of CO�FRC in ARRL June VHF QSO Party.
. Cruise Director for DX-Caribe Cruises, sponsored by Yaesu: 1993 and 1995.
. DX/International Affairs Editor, (eight years), QCWA Journal.
. Other DX operations (besides those mentioned above): JA, VP2A, VP2D, KV4, 8P9, FM, J3, J6, OH, P4, PJ, PJ(B).

Technical, Inventiveness, etc.:
. Manager of Engineering/R&D at major Amateur Radio manufacturer (Yaesu), therefore highly capable at troubleshooting and fault resolution in communications systems. Expert in receiver design issues, especially
strong-signal performance and co-location RFI problems.
. Member of ARRL Industry Advisory Committee on Technical Standards.
. Accomplished "Satellite QSO" 100-point bonus in 2000 Field Day by completing EME QSO with W5UN (well, it IS a satellite!).
. Highly experienced antenna designer; expert on antenna design (beamwidth, pattern integrity, take-off angles) for specific propagation path objectives.
. Author of numerous technical and general-interest articles published in QST, CQ, and CQ VHF. Awarded "Cover Plaque Award" by QST for article
"Bidirectional Antennas for Field day" appearing in June, 1998 QST.

Misc.:
. Life Member: Western Washington DX Club, ARRL, AMSAT, QCWA.
. Extra Class Licensee since 1968; licensed Amateur since 1963.
