Contesting Online Survey

Survey Question Current Survey Question

Do you plan to enter the CQ WW DX Contest?

Recent Surveys

Recently the RDXC committee reclassified P3F to high power from low power without publicly providing strong evidence that any infraction had occurred. They concluded was that the contestant was running HP on 80/40m but not full-time, just 10 minutes here and there without any convincing evidence. It appears they used the RBN as their source of information. Should the RXDC contest have to publicly provide convincing evidence before reclassifying a station from LP to HP?

Randy, K5ZD, wrote a sidebar titled " Convergence and Change" in the 2015 CQWW CW printed results in CQ magazine. He wrote that the "convergence of personal computers, Internet access, DX clusters, and CW Skimmer have changed the nature of CW contesting". He goes to say that it is "more difficult to police the line between the single operator working alone and those who are using the assistance of DX spotting." In light of this convergence and change is it time to recombine SO and SOA into a single category?

M/S almost as a S/S
Due to sickness and low interest in our club it was mainly my fun operating TF3IRA. Of 3160 contacts made, I worked about 2800 of them. Had a lot of fun, but almost still missing my voice 2 weeks later.

Better Than Expected
Great weekend for casual contesting, as I am not that much
into SSB operation.
Enjoyed it with the good conditions.

Not bad...
I've had a plan to work on 80m...But because of antenna problems, I decide to work 10 meters... Over 3k qso's isn't bad..:)

Causes doubts...
It would be desirable to make any small record of local character...
It is a pity, that some hours of night time were silent - on our nodal relay station was conducted the scheduled preventive maintenance with closing of communication channels :(.
But at morning, working with South America, has received considerable pleasure!..
Thanks for all!
..I had have worked 460 QSO,25 Zones,73 countries with suummary something about
106.000 (SOSB-80)

In any way,a result of UW9AF, shown in 1983, at such quantity QSO, causes doubts (look a sheet of records).

10 hours of power failure at SV9CVY
Ten hours without any QSO really hurt, of course... Here is my story:

weather wiped me out
I was planning a semi-serious 10m low power entry. Lake effect snow ( 24 hr toatl abt 8")
brought down trees, along with my slopers and inv l. The ice and snow on the C3E were so bad I couldn't get the swr down
on 10m so tried a 15m entry which was almost as bad. Not until afternoon on Saturday when everything melted was I
able to play radio...did enjoy a couple brief but exciting EU runs. Ended up doing an
low power assisted 10/15/20 with almost 800 qsos...I like cw better anyway!

I must improve low bands.
I am 22 years old and this was my first CQWW by myself. I had operated for CE4TA Multi-Single station in 1999 and 2000 and I wanted to try on my own this time.

10m was quite good, I could have continued there but I had planned a minimum quota for each band. 20m was not very good and I need better antennas for 40m and 80m. I have only a wire for those and it's not high at all.

Rigs: TS-430S Kenwood transceiver, MC-60 Kenwood microphone in VOX, Sony headphones. I MUST get a Heil, hi hi.

I hope to finish a small page at www.qsl.net/ce4u for claimed score, notes and comments by the end of this week.

Mistakes: I got a small cold on Friday, I didn't sleep enough on Friday, I didn't operate in 40m and 80m on Saturday, and I must get a Heil mic.

Much worse than anticipated
I did much worse than anticipated, I think it was due the propagation (not good for SA),
the big thunder storm on all sunday, and I was very tired, because I work a lot on Thursday and friday (under a hot sun and 35 celsius of temperature) installing new antennas for 40, 20 & 10 meter, but a problem in a 20 meter yagi one hour before the start of test, forced me work SB 15 meter.

TVI what TVI ?
Serious TVI problems with at least three neighbours. A fourth doesn't notice RF on the air ... a template to copy!

Better than expected
This being my first serious contest, I assumed the worst. But actually, I did great for the first time (in my opinion). 243,243 isn't bad.
