PED and on air
|
I like to use the fine pile-up and contest simulator PED by JE3MAS. Recently I have found on internet the PED-BCC contest, by the Bavarian Contest Club. Very good to stay in training :-)
Anyway, I'm on air also and I try to be active as long as possible.
best 73 and GL in the contest.

Rag Chew!
|
There's nothing quite as fun as a good CW rag chew. It keeps your speed up, perhaps more importantly your sending ability sharp, and of course you can learn to "read ahead" in a QSO, and pick up things that you won't pick up while contesting or DX'ing. They are all fun and great ways of keeping your speed up. Hey, even if you dislike contests try one out. I guarantee that your CW skills will improve, and your speed will pick up dramatically. 73 Clinton AB7RG

no CW for me

After passing the 20 WPM exam in 1976 at the FCC office in DC, I drove home and threw my key into a corner of my backyard where the thing is still gathering rust......

On the air and PED
|
I try to get on the air as often as I can so as not to be TOO Rusty come contest time. I also use the pileup simulator PED to hone the pileup skillz. :) It's hard to find time to get on the air while at school, so PED is most likely my best bet. I can grab 10 minutes of high speed CW to get my fix. :)

Best thing you can do, and its lots of fun chatting with other contesters during non-contest times.

simulators
|
With no antennas at home for the time being, I find using simulators the most convenient.
Even when I have antennas, Dxing is too much like, well, uh, DXing. ;-)
