Contesting Online Survey

Survey Question Current Survey Question

Do you plan to enter the CQ WW DX Contest?

Recent Surveys

Recently the RDXC committee reclassified P3F to high power from low power without publicly providing strong evidence that any infraction had occurred. They concluded was that the contestant was running HP on 80/40m but not full-time, just 10 minutes here and there without any convincing evidence. It appears they used the RBN as their source of information. Should the RXDC contest have to publicly provide convincing evidence before reclassifying a station from LP to HP?

Randy, K5ZD, wrote a sidebar titled " Convergence and Change" in the 2015 CQWW CW printed results in CQ magazine. He wrote that the "convergence of personal computers, Internet access, DX clusters, and CW Skimmer have changed the nature of CW contesting". He goes to say that it is "more difficult to police the line between the single operator working alone and those who are using the assistance of DX spotting." In light of this convergence and change is it time to recombine SO and SOA into a single category?

The sponsor of the contest decides the rules and thereby, decides what will constitute a multiplier. If you want to sponsor a contest, you can decide what to use for mults. And, you can check the logs, get folks to sonosor the plaques, do all the paperwork, get a big headache, etc.

Fallacy
Pat, your argument makes no sense whatsoever.

In what state is Lafayette? In Louisiana.

In what state is the District of Columbia. None. And certainly not Maryland!

There is no nexus between the two.

DC
This is a no brainer to me,if you think yes for a city to be a mult...how about lafayette,La, or anyone's hometown..agree with N4AF to a degree..don't hear any complaints from DC stations. in fact since W3USS is inactive I dont hear any
DC stations..Just my opinion..Pat

Already a mult in ARRL 10m Test
Years ago W3USS was a very active club station, I had a blast as a "rare" mult in the ARRL 10M contest. Would be nice to get more DC stations on in NAQP as well.

DC UNactive?
I know several guys in DC who are very active contestors. You may not recognize them as they always have to ID as part of Maryland...

DC
I agree with N4AF.

DC in NAQP
If the UN can be a country for DX why not DC in the NAQP. Lets make it happen.

Buzz KILLS -- WHY??
Whassamatta U? What harm does another well-deserved accommodation do? If you can't cope with another mult, find something else to do. Let's all have fun and the more the merrier! W4VIC

Including DC in NAQP
More mults = More participants both inside and outside the District! Look at the NAQP results. You'll see that there are many states who are not represented, Year after year, contest after contest. If my score counted for anything, I'd participate. N4AF's silly comment is just that, silly.

DC
Really tired of radio-UNactive places whining
about being a multiplier.
