Survey Question Current Survey Question

How were condx at your QTH for the CQWW SSB?

Recent Surveys

What is your guess? Do you think there will be sunspots for the CQWW SSB Oct 24-25?

The new CQWW rules say "A competitor who wishes to be judged for a top score in their category must agree to a potential visitation at any time during the contest by an observer appointed by the CQ WW Contest committee. Failure of the entrant to respond to our correspondence or to allow an observer full access to the contest QTH may result in the competitor being removed from award eligibility for 3 years." What do you think about the new rule?

A new category - Xtreme - has been added to the CQWW contest (see http://cqww.com/CQ_WW_Xtreme_Rules.pdf for details). The Xtreme category encourages the development of new technologies in amateur radio communications in general and contesting in particular. Entries in this category will be evaluated on two equally-weighted dimensions, score and innovation. Will you consider entering the Xtreme category?

Too many local QSO's
I was waiting for DX to really open up.....unfortunately, with all of the local staeside ssb and am QSO's, can't get much done in QRM........we need a bandplan for a serious ph dx window-

SOS
It may be better back on the mainland, but I echo VR2BG's statement. It is still pretty nasty out here from 7100 to 7200 when the band is open to Asia from KH6.

Finally
40 meters is finally the night time band it should be. Transcontinental and transatlantic SWBC QRM free QSO's every night.

B'cast still there
This from first post-2009-03-29 report just received from DARC/IARU R1 Monitoring Service:

Frequencies still being used: every 5 kc from 7100 through 7200.

Entities so far identified still using those frequencies include: P5, BY, BV, VU, E3, 9M, EU, 6O, XZ, 4S, ST & 5X.

This survey likely to be more an indication of where folks who respond are located than actual state of the band.
