Contest modes

I never took part in phone contests after my wife told me I sounded like a parrott !
I had to admit it has some merrit ! What is the challege in speaking ?( for most of us, anyway )
On the other hand, using morse is a skill one has to learn and improve.
CW is more fun, once you get the hang of it- Sweet music !!

I guess phone contests have a purpose. When you start out you can just holler into a mic all weekend. As you advance you can send your RTTY macros, but when you want to show some real skill you will use CW.
Either way I hope we can all have fun using the contest mode we enjoy most and continue to improve as we advance our skills.

Because of licence restriction (correctly so) am limited to 10W. Therefore, CW is the only mode for realistic DX work
