Back in the Shack
I've been off the air for 12yrs.....this summer I'm dusting it all off. The cement for the new tower site was poured last week, and the old TA33 is waiting for the Kenwood. Generator power and an old camper trailer for a remote site only accessible by 4x4 or skidoo. I'm totally jazzed, should be live for the August 10-10 party.......73

I don't care.

One small step for man...
I live in a CC&R HOA in Florida. I have a Force-12 Sigma 5 on a 1 story roof. I will be adding an AEA Isopole and installing a Piexx TS-940 interface upgrading at least the operating position with proper CAT technology. This is a major step for me, especially technologically.

Antenna change
I changed one antenna this summer, taking down the
Carolina Windom that I've been using for a couple years
and putting up a 204-foot G5RV in its place. It's been
looking like a good choice, both for contesting and DXing;
it's the best antenna I've had for 30 meters since the 3/2-
wave loop I had at the previous house.

An UNPLANNED change was that I purchased a new Yaesu
G800SA rotor, due to controller failure on the previous
unit - the rotor turned just fine but the indicator quit. The
new rotor is still in the box, and the new controller is
working fine. Does anyone know a good place for Yaesu
rotor service, or will I have to send it to Yaesu?

Major Changes
I put up a new US-Tower HDX-555,Force-12 EF240s&EF230 on the same boom @60 feet and Force-12 C3SS @ 72 feet on new tower

Major Upgrading
Due to the shot of cocaine into my veins (not really but it feels like it) due to the Remote COntrol article that appeared in QST late last year, I can now put up my dream station, but not at home in my CONDO with it's restrictions. Already have put up the tower and beams, now doing all the extra stuff, grounding, new phone line for internet, new remote switching, new band decoder, new auto rotor control (gotta build that one) lots of coax and kilobucks, new 8x8 shack next to the tower, electrical service to the shack, building shelves to stack the years and years of ham radio accumulation, etc. Hopefully K2DB will be a little louder (as will K2NNY in SS). I am relaxing this evening after building new antennas all day.

More Antennas
I'm in the process of adding an 8 element phased array receiving antenna to my 160 meter station. 2 elements up, 6 to go :-)

Maintenance
Completing grounding of tower and installation of bulkhead entrance plate, etc. At what point does level increase from "significant" to "major"? When the dollar investment hits 4 figures?

Also will be building the first beveredge receive antenna system and hanging a couple of loops.

Have recently added a "new" (previously owned) FT1000 and computer control for it. So, I'm well into 4 figures for 2006! Hi!

Received several comments of "wow you're loud" during the IARU. I told one guy each S unit cost at least $1k.

Maintenance Plus
Will be adding WARC antennas, repairing a rotator that has one motor lead shorted to ground, and anything else that comes up!

Little Stuff

I'll be adding a couple more radials for 160m on the shunt-fed tower, perhaps adding 12m traps to my homebrew 30m/17m inverted V.

Other than a couple of software projects, there won't be a lot of changes to my station for the next contest season.
