Hello I just picked up a used Mosley antenna. The guy I bought it from said that it is a TA-33 But taking the measurements into consideration it does not match the specs listed on the Mosley web site. This may be an older antenna not sure on age. It also has an odd feed line it goes to a regular pl connector and then splits off 2 ways with coax inside of the aluminum tubing. I have measured all of the elements and boom here are my results:
Boom Length 18 FT
Longest Element (Reflector I Assume) 25 feet
Driven element also 25 feet ??? Thought it should be a little shorter than Reflector ??
Director 23' 8"
I could tell where everything was taken apart and all parts were numbered and color coded. I am lacking only a few parts to complete this antenna the mounting hardware for the 3 elements to mount to beam. The only antenna close in the Mosley web site is the CL-33 but the longest element listed is 27'. Is it possible that this is an older version and the specs have changed??? I plan on calling Mosley but they are closed until monday. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jeff,
I have the mosley TA-33.
Well over time, they have been tacking on alphabets to the TA-33 and it has different specs.
I have the TA-33-D. On speaking to someone in Mosley, i was told that mine was about
30 years old. I did commend them on the quality, since mine will stand another 30 years easy.
You might have received a 1 sheet instruction with your antenna. If not, then don't panic.
Here is some info from that.
Boom length = 7'11" + 5'11"
Reflector = 26' 6 1/2"
Director = 23' 3 1/4"
Radiator = 24' 6 3/4"
The traps are about 1 feet a piece.
You can check the traps. The instructions to open it up is in Mosleys web-site.
On mine, i can just see the solder lugs and there are no wires going around the driven element.
The length, if assembled, can be adjusted for the CW or SSB part of the band, this i believe you
are already aware of.
So in all, the Mosley TA-33 on their internet site is the latest one that has been shrunk a bit.
About hardware, boy they are pricey. I am in the process of refurbishing mine and iam replacing
all with stainless steel. Home depot does not carry some of the stuff. I have placed an order
with a hardware dealer on the internet. I will pass on the reference if you wish after my
transaction was done to my satisfaction. They said that they can make any hardware that i
want and looks like a family business. The same hardware is atleast about 5 times expensive
with Mosley.
There are some like the insulators, where you need to go back to Mosley. They are real pricey.
Let me know if the specs match. If you wish, i can scan the manual and send you a copy on
Monday. My scanner is at my work Qth. You need the part numbers to place an order.
The traps are pricey too. They go for about $230 for a new set of 6.
Btw, how much did you pay for yours?

We ran into this same situation when a friend purchased an antenna advertised to be a TA-33. Turns out it is a Classic 33. They used a different feed system like you described. Good luck!

It sounds like a ta-33, they have different models I don't know if mine is a c or a d but the driven element is coax inside the aluminum element.

I am trying to identify a mosley 3 element 8 can I picked up a couple weeks ago.the beam is in the ta33 series I thank.If someone might have info on this beam or direct me to a sourse for a manual I would greatly appreciate. thanks John

Hi
For a long time a was looking for a manual to emsamble a Mosley TA33 antenna since my Club was given a used one as a gift, but unfortunately the manual was missing.
So,any help would be greatly appreciated

It is a Mosley CL-33. I know because of boom lenght AND FEED SYSTEM. Hope this helped you. 73
