I need to put up two M squared antennas for the amsats.
The total wind load, including rotor and fiberglas crossbeam will be 4 sq ft and the windspead should be 80 mph.
I want to use a 6061 T6511 2 inch OD aluminum tube for the support. The tube will be hinged at the bottom using a bolt through the tube and through two pipes driven in the ground. It will be 24 feet long.
The rotor, cross beam and antennas will be installed and the tube walked up. The tube will be supported at 10 feet with a bracket to the house. 14 feet of the tube will be free standing above the bracket. I cannot use guys as they would be a problem when the antennas point straight up.
I have quotes for 1/4, 3/8 and 1 inch wall tubing. Of course the 1/4 inch wall 25 ' 2 inch OD tube costs $161 and the tube that is the same except for 1 inch wall costs $288
Therefore I need someone to calculate the bending moment and determine which wall strength I need to have a say 2 to 1 safety factor. I am not a mechanical engineer and really do not want to lean enough to work this out, or to buy a one use program for this.
I want to use aluminum to make it easy to lower and raise with the hinged base as the sat antennas often need maintenance.
