Trees as guy anchor points

I have recently purchased a 60 foot Rohn 25 tower and am considering using 3 conveniently located (about 50-60 feet from the tower) trees as elevated (about 7 or 8 feet high) guy anchor points. The trees are about 4 feet in circumference at the proposed anchor point and are oak and maple.
The antenna will be modest (less than 12 sq. ft.) beam and rotor.
I would appreciate opinions or suggestions from anyone, especially someone who has done something similar.

I used trees for my Rohn 25G. It's about 55' high.
I usrd large threaded eye bolts into the trees and put a turn buckle at the eye. Be sure to leave the trun buckles at maximun length so you can tighted as the tree grows, which is not very much at the base of the tree. Mine are anchored about three feet off the ground. It's been up for 20 years with a TH6DXX tri bander with no problem except I'm running out of turn buckle adjustment at one location.

I use a tree as one of my guy wire anchor points, it is a 3 ft thick pecan tree, works wonderfully. To keep the guy wire from digging into the tree, I cut out a length of water hose to run it through where it is in contact with the tree. Be sure to perforate the hose in a few place to keep it from holding water.
