Rotator Loops Reply

Okay so I over-engineer everything! I am running Andrews Heliax LDF4 for everything here including HF.

Does anyone know or perhaps using Andrews FSJ4 Superflex on rotator loops?

What is my best option for flexible feed line for rotator loops with the lowest loss possible?

I'm also using the LD4F for HF. I had been using a 12' piece of LMR 400U for the rotator loop for several years with no problems. I changed antennas in May 03 and swapped the LMR for the FSJ4 Superflex only because I ran across a scrap piece that was given to me. I don't see any problem with using the FSJ4 as a rotator loop, however, I don't think it's worth the expense of the high dollar connectors you would have to use. IMO,the loss difference between the FSJ4 and the LMR would not be noticeable with the short length especially at HF.

I use 1/2" Cellflex from the shack to the antennas feedpoint.
That cable is almost the same as Andrew LDF4-50.
On the longer distances were I run 7/8", for the rotator loops this is used as well.
So far I never had any problem by using wide loops.
