I need to take a wire antenna with me to operate Field Day. What would be the best to pack in a suitcase ?

Hay Bob.Name here is Jim and I live in Belgium..
Not much positive reactions to Your Query I see.
Just came back from TK Trip (Corsica Island) where I was for my job (Team building and Adv. training in the mountains).
In my spare time I was qrv with the following.
TS130S with a switching MFJ PSU.
My only antenna was a fiberglass fishing rod 10 m long with a 1/4 wave 40 m vertical taped on it. My mast was a little short so I helicalled the wire till it fitted . Wire is 10.3m long (some 33.8ft) and with 4 equally long radials laid on the ground.
At the antenna feedpoint (base of vertical wire) I have put a C-L-C network all variable . This lets me tune the antenna on all bands from 160->10m.
Works very well and is simple to build and small to transport.(Tpt bag is 4 feet long)
You know a dipole is a one band solution.....

Well - yes. But.......
They are simple.
They are small and light - take several or make a multi-wire mult-band dipole.
They are very good antennas.
You can throw some nylon cord over a tree branch and host the dipole up - you can
even use it as a vertical if you dont have the room to string it out --- etc.
How can you go wrong?

Hi,
it depends on what you want to work. Good is an multiband vertical like HF9V from Butternut. Small package and fits 80-10m. If you focus more on the higher bands try a Hexbeam. Great performance for that small size and wheight.
If you look more for local QSO's a dipole is the right way.

PLEASE READ THIS ARTCLE, I SWEAR IT IS NOT IN ANY WAY A SCAM, YOU WILL MAKE A LOT OF �'s/$'s ETC THAT IS A PROMISE !!
Please note, you can if you wish send you're own countries currency � / $ etc, but if possible you should try and send the currency for the country of the address E.G. UK - � USA - $ In the few countries where it is illegal to send currency out of the country you can obtain a license from the postoffice. You may also wish to declare you're extra earnings.
I found this exact message on a bulletin board just as you have found it
now.
Like you I thought, this cannot be possible but 'let's give it a go'.
Thankfully I 'gave it a go', risked a whole �6.00,
it is as you read working for me and returning me �6,000.00 within weeks.
Try harder than me and it could return you � 60,000 within weeks.
�6.00 to �6,000 or even � 60,000. "Yeah right, this must be a scam"
My thoughts as well.
But like most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading.
Anyway, the message said the following:

what have I got to lose except 6 stamps and �6.00 ?????
Then I invested the measly �6.00.
Followed the instructions and GUESS WHAT!?...
within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail! I was shocked!
I figured it would end soon, but the money just kept coming in. In my
first week, I made about �25.00.
By the end of the second week I had made a total of over �1,000.00!
In the third week I had over �10,000.00 and it`s still growing.
This is now my fourth week and I have made a total of just over
�42,000.00

fun part, each of those 625 persons post a MINIMUM 200 letters with
my name at #2 and they each only receive 5 replies, that just made me
�3,125.00!!! Those 3,125 persons will all deliver this message to 200
newsgroups with my name at #1 and if still 5 persons per 200
newsgroups react I will receive �15,625,00! With an original
investment of only �6.00! AMAZING! When your name is no longer on the
list, you just take the latest posting in the newsgroups, and send
out another �6.00 to names on the list, putting your name at number 6
again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is: do you
realize that thousands of people all over the world are joining the
internet and reading these articles everyday?, JUST LIKE YOU are
now!! So, can you afford �6.00 and see if it really works?? I think
so... People have said, "what if the plan is played out and no
one sends you the money? So what! What are the chances of that
happening when there are tons of new honest users and new honest
people who are joining the internet and newsgroups everyday and are
willing to give it a try? Estimates are at 20,000 to 50,000 new
users, every day, with thousands of those joining the actual
internet.
Why not post more than 200
If you get 15 responses, look at the math
