Dear sir,
I am a Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia's student and is currently doing a
project in designing a monopole trap multiband antenna. The frequency range
is from 2 - 30 MHz which is HF antenna. What i planned to do is to design a
vertical monopole multiband trap antenna.
I have studied some articles about the trap antenna. I am interested in this
trap antenna. But I could not find some information about how to design the
trap antenna. I do not know how to calculate the diameter of the trap, the
length of the transmission lines of the traps.
I am currently studying the transmission line to get some ideas about the
SWR and the inductances and capasitances in that particular frequency.
Can sir help me to design this antenna.
I am looking forward to have your guidances.
Thank you.
Your sincerely,
Cheng Sheun

You wnat to use this ant for receiving only or transmitting included ?
Also: it should cover the entire frequency between 2 and 30Mhz ? or only dedicated spectrums within this area ?
Let me know, perhaps I can give some hints...

There are several programs for designing antenna traps. Check the following locations:
http://www.qrz.com/files/antennas/
http://www.ac6v.com/pageans.html
http://www.btinternet.com/~g4fgq.regp/page3.html
One that is expecially easy to use is coaxtrap
Good luck!

I have a similer problem and am hopeing someone might be able to help. I want to homebrew a 2m/440mc whip for my car. I have seen some that mount on the roof and a have a trap in the middle of the whip. As for doing multiband for 2m thrugh hf like the original poster wanted would probably be easier done with two antennas, one for 50mc up and the other for 30mc down. I have a 110 inch stainless steel whip for HF(just gotta pass the code) well have a good time mobile dxing
