Topband Coaxial L Reply
by W1TSP on January 21, 2002 Mail this to a friend!
Planning to put up coaxial L to finally get active on topband. Interested in:

What sort of feedpoint impedance I should expect?

Can 80 and 160 meter L be fed simultaneously?

Should I expect that noise level is likely to be to high to use L as receive antenna?

Tnx,

Rich W1TSP

I use one and I get a decent match into 50 ohm coax if at least 3 nearly full length radials are used; it does not load well on 80m and it is a fairly noisy antenna on RX but it allows me to work a lot of dx with just 100w, and I can break many pileups with just a few calls. 73 Jamie WW3S
