Could someone of the exprienced cntesters let us heard his experience using "normal" and stacked antennas in contests of world wide attention.

I've never had stacked antennas until I put up 3 monobanders for 10 last September to defend my 1988 USA record in the CQ WW SSB as W0ZV. Since then my claimed scores have broken several USA records on 10 (CQWW SSB, ARRL DX CW, ARRL DX SSB and CQ WPX SSB). The main advantage I see to the stacks is increased diversity in both takeoff angles and azimuths. I usually select two antennas (upper two or bottom two) for optimum takeoff angles to major population areas (EU or JA) and turn the other one toward a different area for multipliers. I seldom use all 3 in the same direction because the takeoff angle is too low. I'm much more likely to have 3 antennas all pointed in different directions than all 3 in one direction! I'm continuing to learn how to use this system most effectively and it sure is fun!

Bill, these are KLM antennas and the boom length is ~27.5 feet. I was in a hurry to get the system up and the KLM's were the best option at the time. I must have gotten one of their last shipments in early October before they went out of business November 1! If I were not in a rush, I would have probably gone with Hy-Gain 105CA's using N6BV's dimensions or possibly OWA's on 24 foot booms. I am using swing-arm mounts and do not want to risk overloading the tower (Rohn 25G) or rotators (Ham-IV) with booms over 30 feet.
