A great program, But I am so far unable to get my pkt TNC talking to the software
I have tried all available com ports, with changes in configuration
I am using a MFJ TNC-2 and it works fine when used with TRLOG
but I love DX4Win for day to day !
Please help ?

Steve, you need to get on the DX4WIN mailing list -- it's a top-notch source of advice. Yours is probably a very simple problem, like for example needing to take a KAM TNC out of host mode.
To subscribe, send an e-mail message to majordomo@qth/net. In the body of your message put subscribe dx4win. I think that'll do it. If not go to www.qth.net for instructions.

Didn't notice before that you're using an MFJ TNC. I am too, and it works fine with both DX4WIN and TR. If you want to send me e-mail with your packet settings in the program, I'll be glad to try to help.

Many Thanks to Steve Bookout of DX4WIN and Peter NZ4R
what was wrong and how easy it was to fix once identified.......
DX4WIN is a windows op system and IRQ sensitive
even though I assumed windows would have identified IRQ conflicts from within the Settings:ContolPanel:Syetem:Device Drivers module
it did not show a IRQ conflict !
Changing com 1 to another IRQ (it was IRQ 3)
solved the problem com 3 was and still is IRQ 3
73's and see you all in the Phone SS

Be careful about changing default IRQs for COM1 and COM2.
The standard settings for these two ports are IRQ4 for COM1
and IRQ3 for COM2. While it's OK to configure other COM
ports (COM3 and above) with non-standard IRQs, I would hesitate
to remap COM1 and COM2 from their standard IRQs unless you
have a really GOOD reason to do so. Generally you should set
up your other ports to NOT use IRQ4 and IRQ3 and leave these
to COM1 and COM2 as the creator intended.

Thanks to all for the help !
AD1c has a point brought up to me by several computer technicians.
I have since changed Com 1 and 2 back to factory settings and changed the IRQ's on the added ports (3/4)
Hope to see you all in this week-ends SS QRV as K5RV
