I operated CW during the IARU contest and worked NU1AW/KH6 on several bands. A local amateur new to contesting tells me she heard (on SSB) NU1AW CQ'ing as 'mobile KH6' on 40m. Seems odd to me but did this occur?

Brian --
I don't understand what you find odd. If I am vacationing in Ohio and operating 40m while in the car, I would call as ah6zz mobile w8 -- to let everyone know I am not in Hawaii.

Hi Tom:
I was under the impression that NU1AW/KH6 was a multi/multi contest station, so to have one of the operators mobile struck me as a bit odd. But maybe not.
