What rf isolation methods are used to operate rigs only 1 MHz apart using separate antennas in a multi-multi?

I'm not sure there are any situations where you would operate 1 MHz apart. For band-to-band (> 1 MHz) isolation, two things are usually done: good bandpass filters and maximum practical antenna separation. There are a few big stations out there that are capable of simultaneous in-band operation (< 1 MHz). These stations use non-resonant RX antennas (such as beverages or short vertical arrays) or have the real estate for widely-separated antennas (or both).

In all cases with multiple transceivers in simultaneous operation, good station engineering (grounding, power, feedlines, etc) and good radios go a long way toward reducing problems.
