What a great presentation for anyone new to Contesting.

I was glad to see State QSO Parties mentioned as an ideal way for a Little Pistol Contest Station operator to get experience and have fun in this exciting niche area of Amateur Radio.

For those who just can't wait for a weekend Contesting Fix, I'd be remiss in not mentioning the Thursday Night NS practice sessions sponsored by the NCCC (Northern California Contest Club). Details can be found at the website.

73 & Good luck in the Contest!

This is a pretty good presentation. I wish I saw this years ago!

I liked looking at the chart they have in there on contests vs. time of year and experience level. I found it odd, though, that the ARRL VHF/UHF contests were more or less in the middle. I have operated them and there is quite a bit of competition there. It takes a serious effort to even place in the middle, let alone scoot up to the top. The sprints and other contests must just be THAT much more of a challenge HI. Incredible.

The operating techniques are really helpful, pay attention to those. The shorter your exchanges the more QSO's youll have, if the QSO's are there to be had.
