What a great presentation for anyone new to Contesting.

I was glad to see State QSO Parties mentioned as an ideal way for a Little Pistol Contest Station operator to get experience and have fun in this exciting niche area of Amateur Radio.

For those who just can't wait for a weekend Contesting Fix, I'd be remiss in not mentioning the Thursday Night NS practice sessions sponsored by the NCCC (Northern California Contest Club). Details can be found at the http://www.ncccsprint.com website.

73 & Good luck in the Contest!

This is a pretty good presentation. I wish I saw this years ago!

I liked looking at the chart they have in there on contests vs. time of year and experience level. I found it odd, though, that the ARRL VHF/UHF contests were more or less in the middle. I have operated them and there is quite a bit of competition there. It takes a serious effort to even place in the middle, let alone scoot up to the top. The sprints and other contests must just be THAT much more of a challenge HI. Incredible.

The operating techniques are really helpful, pay attention to those. The shorter your exchanges the more QSO's youll have, if the QSO's are there to be had.
