SECC Club Callsign W4AN to be used this weekend
Thanks to Bill Fisher's mother, Linda Ortman, and the efforts of K4SB
and W8JI, Bill's W4AN callsign has been issued by the FCC to the South
East Contest Club, of which Bill was a founding member.
This weekend, the club callsign, W4AN, will be used for the first time.
The operator will be SECC member in Alabama, Chris, AC4CS and he will participate in the annual SPDX Contest. This contest allows only QSOs with SP stations for those outside SP, so contacting the club call by others will have to await another event. It is likely that someone will use the call in the annual Georgia QSO Party on the weekend of April 9 and 10. That operation will also be announced when plans are finalized.
All QSLs for W4AN should continue to be sent via K4BAI direct or via the bureau.
73,
John, K4BAI
VP, SECC.

Great job, guys! This is great news. It would have been awful to have the callsign fall into some No-Code Tech's hands. It will be great to hear it on the air again. 73 - Scott KA9FOX

Congratulations to K4SB & W8JI for their fine efforts to keep Bill's call in good standing. I also concur with Scott's comment. 73 de K4SQR
