The 8th Annual Ontario QSO Party contest sponsored by the Ontario DX Association takes place on the weekend of April 17-18th starting at 18:00 UTC on the Saturday and running till 1800 UTC on the Sunday.

The contest takes place on all HF bands (except WARC) both SSB & CW, along with the VHF/UHF bands in FM simplex, SSB and CW.

Ontario stations work everyone, stations outside of Ontario work Ontario stations.

Point scheme is 1 point for HF SSB contacts, 2 points for HF CW contacts and 5 points for contacts on the VHF/UHF bands. (You can only work stations once on each of the VHF/UHF bands regardless of mode).

For "out of province" stations, multipliers are the 48 counties, districts, regional municipalities and "major cities" of Ontario. (See website for multiplier list)worked on each band. "In-province" stations collect the Ontario multipliers, plus Canadian provinces/territories, US states and DXCC countries.

Of course there will as usual be quite a number of "multi-county" mobile/rover stations!

Complete rules and information are available at http://www.odxa.on.ca/oqphome.html.

We also have a contest discussion group on Yahoogroups. You can get on the list by sending a "blank" e-mail to: [email protected] .

Our ham friends in the state of Michigan share the same contest weekend with us so you can work both contests for twice the fun!!
