Slovenian Diabetes Association, together with Slovenian Radio Club announces for the fourth time the Special Events Amateur Radio sign S55T on a country basis to celebrate World Diabetes Day and to arise public awareness of diabetes

S55T will be transmitting world wide from

Saturday, November 9, 12.00 GMT till Sunday, November 10, 12.00 GMT 2002

on all KV bands and on UKV bands 144 and 432 MHz

Foreseen KV frequency bands are:

80 m 3.525 3.725

Last year we made contacts with 1500 radioamateurs in 80 countries.

Slovenia has 2 million population and 100.000 diabetics

At least 150 million persons suffer from diabetes worldwide

This year's theme is 'Your Eyes and Diabetes'

A lot of radioamateurs are diabetics. This year Slovenian Radioamateurs made about 1500 contacts! We hope to go next year with two special signs S55T and S50G, so that the hams could have two contacts and more time to ask about the WOrld DIabetes Day 14th of November!
