KQ2M is correct!

That photo was from the W2RQ Field Day from 1980.

Good job 'Anonymous'!

No, that was Mike Colesante, KC8C. He is a Silent Key now. Mike was part of the W3LPL crew which is where I met him. He and I were next-door neighbors in MD for a year or two in the late 80s.

Thanks to Dave, KM3T for confirming my suspicions! Mike was my operating partner for several CQWW and ARRL DX Phone contests at the old W3LPL. We sat near the power supply at that station and watched the rectifiers catch fire when all 6 bands were open at once. Mike was a great op and when the Italians filled the dupe sheet (paper in those days), he would use the phonetics "Lasagna, Pasta, Lasagna." Our last operating together was 20M at Frank's new location on it's maiden voyage, sans wattmeter, with a gamma match full of water and high SWR. Thanks for great memories Mike. 73 OM.

Re Dayton Contest 'Floor-um'

I think I recognize N2IC and W2GD in there. Others...?

Nope.

Neither N2IC or W2GD is in this photo.

W2GD was out in the hallway when this photo was taken.

But - that's another picture!

You're right! KZ2S is the owner of the overloaded truck and KA2AEV is helping 'overload' it!

I believe that the Drake Station with Heathkit
AMP was used by K1ZND (now K1ZZ) in the mid
70s.
