Absolutely unrealistic. How about the DX stations in remote locations with no access to the internet? Better to cancel the contest than exclude the most attractive participants.

I agree with Henk VK2GWK completely, eventhough Middle East situation, and international too, is certainly complicated. However, I know that CQWW 2001 will be more succesful than 2000's.

Rich's post was very thorough, touching, and intelligently written. I can't understand anyone not understanding his position. Past events have made these precautions necessary. If you can't email you logs (if you can read this, then you can), fax them. To suggest cancelling the contest, rather than e-mailing, or faxing one's logs, is ridiculous.

I guess sending in the bingo cards in CQ is too much of a hazard, too.
And what about mailing in renewal checks for CQ? I don't want to give a shady person an opportunity to add anyting to my mailed-in check for CQ subs.

ther are those of us who still use an s40 with a 6sn7 loop preamp and a bc453 q5er for receiving, and an arc5 (watch for the swish of my vfo) driving a globe chief90 driving a single 810, and yes i do use the 1936 rip off of the arrl log book for all station entries.

an yes still use the US mail for log delivery

hope you will hear the swish from Fiji during the oceania 2002 cw dx contest

I agree interelly with the first comment. Does CQ realizes from where people are going to put stations in the air for these contests ?
What would be the purpose of this measure ?
greetings to everybody, and see you on the next one

In this day and age, anyone unfortunate enough not to have at least occasional internet access should at least know someone who does. So snail mail a diskette to a friend and let him post the log. It should be very little problem for anyone anywhere to submit a log by e-mail.
