Wireless Institute of Australia Head Quarters station to
participate in IARU Contest.
The Wireless Institute of Australia (the world's oldest
Amateur Radio Society) is pleased to advise that its Head
Quarters Station will operate from a location near Mannum
in South Australia, during this weekends Contest.
The IARU contest runs from 1200 UTC Saturday 9 July
2011 to 1200 UTC Sunday 10 July 2011.
The station VK5WIA will be operated by WIA Directors
Chris VK5CP together with members of the Amateur Radio
Experimenters Group in Adelaide.
Primary bands will be 80-10M on SSB We will use Icom
radios, an Alpha amplifier, a SteppIR vertical on 80-40 and
an Andy Coman HB35C yagi on 20-15-10M.
We look forward to contacting as many other IARU
societies and amateurs as possible during the contest.
