CWops will sponsor the first CW OPEN this summer. CW OPEN is a unique contest experience. It is actually three, 4-hour contests timed to occur under optimal low-band and high-band conditions in at least two out of three of the time periods in ITU regions 1,2 and 3.
The contests will each be separately scored and awarded. The dates and times are:
1200Z to 1559Z August 20, 2011;
2000Z to 2359Z August 20, 2011; and
0400Z to 0759Z August 21, 2011.
It is a single-operator contest with QRP, low-power, and high-power categories.
Those who participate in two or more of the three contests will have their scores aggregated and also compete in the combined score category.
It is a CW only contest, and you can operate any or all bands 160, 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10.
The exchange is: "serial number" and "name."
The scoring is: 1 point per two-way QSO, once per band; and 1 multiplier for each different call the first time each is worked.
The rules Webpage is www.cwops.org/cwopen.html
