Note that June 1st is the deadline to register for the first part of the Contest University to be held in Friedrichshafen on June 25th.

This part is focused on helping beginning contesters to learn techniques from experienced contesters. The entire session will be held in the German language, with the exception of the presentation by Doug, K1DG.

Details and registration can be found at: http://www.darc.de/mitglieder/referate/dx/contest/ctu/

The second part on Saturday is an extension of the previous Contest Forum and no registration is required.

I go to Friedrichshafen for the 17th year in a row.

It's a pitty the contest university is held in German. This way only a very small minority of us foreigners can fully understand what is said.

I guess there are more people attending the 'Messe' who understand English than there are people who understand German.

We posted a survey in English to get feedback on this point, and had virtually zero interest outside of Germany. We gave everyone the chance to decide, but the vote was clearly to hold this in German.

P.S.: I understand that we can still take registrations. This posting took quite a while to be released, sorry.

I guess I missed the survey somehow... I doubt if one vote would have changed anything though :-)

But then I don't understand why this Contest University is announced on a worldwide website.

Never mind, I'll have fun on the 'Messe' even without the University!

It was an earlier news item:
http://www.contesting.com/articles/1050

It was announced here, because:

a) we did not know if it would be in English and/or German
b) I received several mails requesting information from outside of Germany where the participants can speak German.

What are the plans for 2011? I plan on going to Friedrichshafen and would love to attend CTU. Is it going to be in English or German?

Hi Rudy,

Note that Micahel, DL6MHW, is running the CTU in Friedrichshafen.

I understand that the CTU will be in German, since last year there was so little demand for English sessions.
