Bill,

Your method appears to work as well.

Thanks

This same issue has come up before. Before a contest, I always go to the PTT
tab then select one of the buttons to enable the Apply button. It is something
to do with WriteLog - others have noticed it also in the past (using a
Navigator interface).

I agree Joe, I'm not sure why it makes a difference either.

I wasn't sure if it was a Writelog setup issue or a MKII or a MK2R+ (I have
both units, the MK2R+ replaced the MKII today) setup issue.

For testing purposes I installed another very popular free ware logging program
and the delay issue was not present. So that told me that the Micoham
hardware/router was not the issue.

So back to Writelog. I just started messing around with settings and nothing
would solve the delay problem I didn't expect an adjustment in the CW PTT Tab
to solve the problem since I do not have COM PTT selected that is associated
with the line for my K3.

I made the adjustment in the CW PTT anyways and it fixed the problem. Not sure
why, but at this point I really don't care, it works.

I brought this up a couple weeks ago, which still appears to be a
problem. The problem being that my K3 would not return to receive
quickly enough after hitting an F-Key message. It was bad enough that
I would miss the first letter of a returning caller to my cq.

I think I may have solved the problem. I went into setup|ports and
selected the CW PTT tab.

Per the Microham setup document for Writelog I had 'on LPT pin 16/COMM
RTS' selected. I changed that by selecting 'none'. This seems to
have solved the problem. My K3 now returns to receive quickly after
sending a F-Key message.

I'll keep playing in the ARRL 10m contest to see if my fix is really a
fix.
