What about freq instead of band in the DAT file. 

I know this would cause issues with backwards compatibilty - although
maybe it could be made to deal with both if one really cared.

The other isssue would be I am sure a lot of changes in the code. 

But converting it to cabrillo in the edit window would have the smae or more 
issues.  

I find it useful to have points and mults in the log.

I am also not sure how this works out for bands like 23 cm - maybe not log
the tenths for things above 50 mhz.  1296.100.5 seems silly to me anyway.
