 It depends on how you reply...
If you reply by clicking "reply" in your email client or email web interface 
the text remains.
If you reply by clicking on the "reply to group" link at the bottom of a 
groups.io post then the text is wiped out (as dumb as it sounds).
FWIW I vote for sticking to the contesting.com reflector :)

No idea.  I'm on several, and run several.  I hit reply, I see text, I 
arrange it to make sense, write my response, then send, and things go 
through as intended.

I can only guess people are hitting reply, deleting everything, 
responding, then sending.  If there's a hidden setting in .io that does 
this, I'm not aware of it.
