Did some digging out in the etherland and found an old '78 manual showing the tilt fixture you are referring to and understand now why I was confused. I just had never seen a WT-51 on such a fixture and it was a popular crankup back when I purchased mine. And I don't recall such a fixture being offered then.  Lost the instruction manual among other items in moving so was short a reference. Looks like a nifty accessory. Tnx.

With the tilt fixture. The "hinge" is 8 feet up.

The WT-51 (at least mine and others I've seen) is designed to tilt over
from the base planted in the concrete, like _most_ other crank-ups. Was
curious how it could be tilted over from a 9 foot high tilt-over point
(structurally) so it would, when laid over, be below horizontal. Or did
I really misread something.

If you followed the thread, he said the tilt point is nine feet above

I have a Tri-Ex WT-51 and since it tilts over at the ground base I am
confused how you can get it past horizontal. Please explain.

Al,

I have a (much) smaller cousin of the DX-70, the WT-51. The tilt
fixtures are the same design.

The WT-51 does tilt well past horizontal. I have taken advantage of
that capability.

I installed the mast and rotor after the initial erection.
