I should have made it clear that the 1st section would be on the base
attached with the bolts in at least one leg, and the section held plumb.
Then a half inch bit can be used to drill out the holes on the other
leg(s). That way you end up with 1/2" round holes all the way through,
not egg shaped holes.

tower.
Spray some cold galvanizing in there - a couple applications - and call
it good.
