Good evening all,

We had a beautiful day today. The sun was out, the temperature went to 45,
and the wind was light. I didn't have to install the locking bolts on the
tower. I just tied it off a couple of different ways.

The double sheave pulley discussion, as informative as it was, was totally
unnecessary. I had completely overlooked the fact that the cable to the
motor was not long enough to allow the motor and gearbox to be lowered to
table top height. Fortunately, the assembly was at chest height on me, a
perfect position for me to stand and do the work with the assembly laying
on its side.

The old 500 ohm pot was faulty as suspected. the new one was set to the
proper resistance and installed. I only needed a 5 degree adjustment in
motor position after the pot was installed. This I did before I tightened
the clamps.

Again, I thank you all for thinking through this thing with me. But some
guy named William Shakespear (a real ham) once said, it was, "Much do About
Nothing."

73,

Dave, K4TO
