Hello Tower Talk people.
Have any of you ever placed ferrites or torroids on a rotor cable?

I am assisting with a fellow ham who is installing an old Hygain rotor on his
HF tower. It was suggested to place a couple ferrites or torroids on the run
of rotor cable to prevent pickup of RF into the rotor, and break the about 200
foot run of cable into lengths which are not resonant on any HF band. Since
the rotor is mostly DC in nature this makes sense, but will this cause any
problems with lightning protection or proper operation?

Thanks,
David
