Thanks for the replies and suggestions regarding the gray line maps. I am going 
to check
each one of them out and see which one I like the best.

YEARS ago, I had a program that was DOS-based, called "Terminat." When you ran
the executable file (!) an image of the earth would come on the screen and it 
would
show which area of the earth was in daylight and which was in darkness. Compared
to what is available now, it was rather crude but it did accurately convey the 
information.
If one watched closely and for a long enough time, one could actually see the 
areas of
daylight and darkness changing!
