I use a winch and falling derrick to raise 40’ of 25G on a tilt base bolted to
the back end of my 16’ tandem trailer.
With an A-3 and rotor on it, it handles well, but careful attention is required
to manage the guys and keep it straight while it’s rising!
We use rope guys and 90+% of the stations we call on 20CW come back first try,
AT 5 WATTS input on the crowded Field Day band!
I think anything taller would be a waste of time, signal wise, and would
require the front of the trailer to be hooked to a vehicle.
Without being on a vehicle, we put jackstands under the back of the trailer,
but the 40 tower almost lifts the front when it’s near horizontal.
