Hi Phil

Why not consider something like a Buttrnut HF-9V? They seems a lot less
complicated and a LOT cheaper. I have a friend who has one and it works
pretty good. He usually brings it to FD with him. I think the only band
that doesn't have full coverage is 80. 73

I am looking for comments from any BigIR users on the long term
reliability of the SteppIR and over-all results. I am not totally
ready to replace the Zero-Five, but the BigIR looks like a possible
option. I realize that one antenna working great on all bands is an
impossibility but the BigIR looks pretty versatile.

Thanks,
