WELL DONE, BARRY!

Let's see, what have we learned from this?

"Radios with a 2nd RX using upward conversion won't work as well on the ham
bands as receivers using downward conversion!"

Hmmmm, seems I remember a few other radios whose 1st RX uses downward
conversion, but 2nd RX uses upward conversion:
 <> Yaesu FT-5000
 <> Yaesu FT-3000
 <> Kenwood TS-990 (uses it on WARC bands + 15 and 10m)

And a couple that only use upward conversion:
 <> Icom IC-7800
 <> Icom IC-7700
 <> Icom IC-7600

WELL DONE TEN-TEC TOO!

Ten-Tec has one big problem . . .
and Randy Dangerfield described it:
"I can't get no respect!"

Maybe that will improve with the Rebel.
The "open" design is out of this world . . .
As in "One small step for a man, one giant step . . ."
It's 1969 all over again!

*VERY* WELL DONE, TEN-TEC!

Subject: Re: [TenTec] RX366

I just spent a few minutes doing an A/B comparison of an original subrx (in
566) with a RX-366 subrx (in 565). I used a delta loop antenna to listen to
9MHz SWL band and a 580ft Beverage antenna to listen to AM BCB. Bottom
line, there's no comparison - in these two instances, original subrx hears
MUCH better than the RX-366.

So if you only use your subrx for SWL'ing or AM BCB, stick with the original
subrx. If you actually use your subrx for ham radio, the
RX-366 will be a HUGE improvement.
