Ya, it was hooked to a mobile antenna on a mag mount on a cookie sheet
on the dinner table ;-)

You're right though, it doesn't hurt to check. Someone else, off list,
said that it can be expensive to guess at which part is wrong and
replace it only to find it was something else. They prefer to figure
out exactly what is wrong and fix that before trying it again to avoid
that.
