 Hi Barry,

Good thing it was not a snake. I looked all over my copy of the data sheet 
earlier and didn't see the value. I just looked again and found it clearly 
marked at the bottom.
I googled the freq plus crystal and found a number of sources selling them for 
under 15 cents.  I just don't know if TenTec did anything different during the 
design cycle.  My guess is probably not since that crystal is specific to the 
DS1285.

Just guessing but DS1285 data sheets says it's a 32.768Khz clock

crystal.  You might be able to steal one from an old AT computer

motherboard.
