I have a Ten Tec Model 963 switching power supply in the shack.
I use it for powering a 2 meter rig, the dummy load, and some
small receivers and accessories. I use an Astron RS 35M for the
Omni VII. No noise observed from the 963 supply. I opted for the
heavy linear type Astron to provide more than enough current
for the rig, to allow it to cruise along, like having a big engine in
a small car.

No worries with the 963 here. I am under the impression it is
made for TT by Astron. My take is that a good switcher type
supply is fine, but not all switchers are equal.
